Cantaloupes are at the cause of the Listeria outbreak
Listeria infections can stay in the gut for up to two months before causing symptoms, CDC says, so not everyone may know that they’ve been infected yet.
It’s rare to have listeria from cantaloupes or any fruit, it’s usually from cold cuts.
